I just thought I would post this photo a friend sent to me today. May 20th, my daughter and I were asked to help this friend with her yard because it was so static looking and she wasnt physically able to do the work herself. I had asked her if she had a preference to any particular type of plant and she said she trusted our judgement. The only thing she wanted was a black eyed susan vine in memory of her mother. Of course the past 4-5 years these have been impossible to find so I told her the chances were slim to none at best. After we got the yard prepped and ready for new plants we headed to the green house. No luck but we did find some amazing deals on herbs and day lilies. So we went to another greenhouse and we were in luck! There was a huge table of them in 2" pots (seedlings) for $2 each! How could I pass up that deal??!! I bought my friend three of them and we bought one for the house here. The pic I posted is the three susans putting on a glorious show so far and still has the rest of the summer to grow. I love it!
Today is hopefully going to be a busy day. Lots of email corrospondance and organizations to contact. One in particular is for a chalk drawing festival where they do beautiful works of art on the sidewalk that only last a few days. I hope there is room for me to volunteer. Check out the website HERE You will be surprised at the detail of this art.
Till next time
