I havent been here for far too long. This heavy heat has turned my brain into a non-receptive, non-productive lump of flesh that I carry around in my cranium.
The gardens here are sagging, they are getting their share of rain but are so heat exhausted the only things thriving are the weeds. The black-eyed susan vine looks at me and say "Do I have to..?" Nothing seems to be doing that well and I dont think its the work of the pesky rabbit (who I havent seen for nearly a week). The corn is bursting out of the ground though. Its getting ready to build some cobs, they are all in full flower and you can see the stalks are starting to fatten up.
Yesterday we had quite the scare weather wise. The satellite images on the weather channel showed a rather daunting line that spanned all the way across SW Ontario. There was no escape. The warnings, however, were more for preventative measures than imminent doom. The clouds were a reminder of a scene from "The Neverending Story" I got a couple pics but when I went to upload them all I could find is a video. Im uploading it to Youtube right now.
Life has made a bit of a change for me. Im now volunteering at a homeless shelter and feeling pretty good about it. Its hotter than hades in there even though they have air conditioning. I have lost 5lbs since staring there and I can only think thats its because Im sweating my rear off. Its all good though - I'll take the loss with a smile. Tomorrow I have to bike all the way there and my tailbone still isnt healed from the last big ride I had. (now I see the weather gurus are telling me that its going to rain.... me+ bike + rain = grouchy) I will have to take 2 changes of clothes...ugh
The camera will definitely be coming with me because rain makes a great subject. Here's hoping I can get something new to post.
Till then
