What have I done...? Well I could list all the things I did NOT do but then this blog would never end and I would loose readers. What I did do was volunteer at a street painting festival (pics can be seen on my Facebook page) and I watched as the parking lot of a church was transformed from drab asphalt to a blank canvas to works of art. I wish I could have stayed longer to see the finished products but Im sure there will be photos on their website. Imadon
After the chalk festival I went to Ribfest to meet up with a couple friends and listen to some music. I went early so I could have a look around at the vendors but only stopped at one. His name is Tom Straub and we had quite a long chat about his technique. I was glad to know that with all his wonderful art work on display his equipment wasnt full of all the bells and whistles. He uses a Kodak Easyshare (like me..YEAH!) and two computer apps that also dont have all the bells and whistles. I use Corel Photo Paint for quick fixes such as gamma or contrast and resizing so I can upload. If its a quick crop then I just use Microsoft Photo Editor because its a faster load and uses less resources when Im running it. Ive crashed far too many motherboards to take a chance using a huge application that I dont need.
After chatting with Tom I ran into one of my friends and we headed down to the stage. Had a great time, lots of laughs, great music and *ehem* lots of bevvies. Nuff said.....oops.
Please check out Tom Straub, you wont be disapointed.
